Hi! My name is Gary, I got my start in collecting comics in Germany back in 1956. I had established a great collection, trading with my buddies over there, which included titles like Roy Rogers, Zorro, Kid Colt, Journey into Mystery, etc. When I tried to convince my parents that it was in everyone's best interest to transport my collection of comics back to the good old USA, they just couldn't see it my way. So when we moved to California back in the mid 60's I started all over again, this time collecting Sgt. Fury, Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, etc.

When I got married I had a nice collection going of about 4,000 comics, some OK some not so OK, not to mention a very nice collection of Ace Double Sci-Fi books. In the late 1970's I got divorced and left my collection with my ex-wife. When I came to get them a few months later, they had been donated to the local church.

After painstakingly collecting another good stash of comics I was undone again. No comics. As time went on I decided collecting wasn't worth it and I stopped. I then moved to Seattle, WA and got married again. It just so happens that my brothers and sister decided they liked Washington State so much that they moved here too. One day in 1992, my brother Jon and I were sitting down having a beer when he told me he had started to collect comics. I said cool, so what do you have so far. He showed me a small collection which looked very good. He was into Spider-man, but I still liked Sgt. Fury, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Avengers, etc.

He asked if I was interested in starting a new comic collection again and I said no, I'd rather open a book store, which has been my ultimate goal over the years. To make a long story short, about a month later I saw an ad in the local newspaper about a comic collection for sale in a small town north of Seattle. So I thought I would take a look at what they had. They had 8,000 comics and they were taking bids on them. I thought a low ball bid couldn't possibly win so I bid against my better judgment. Guess what?  I won!

Now after 10 years of starting my collection again, I have over 35,000 comics. I am getting in more all the time. My wife has politely asked me to remove them from the premises. So I decided I would finally start my book store Comicspick.com, a virtual book store to start. The reason for the name Comicspick is easy...I want to give my customers the best available selection of comics possible, not just the run of the mill comics you see advertised every day on other Webs sites. If you look at some of the independent publishers you will find some well known artists who got their start there.

So, hey guys and gals, if you are looking for any particular comic, or first edition paperback SCI-FI book, send me an E-mail. I've got lots of resources and can find them. Also, if you have a collection and want to consign it to me to sell for you, send me the list and the condition of same and we can work a deal.

Just watch my site as it develops. I will be adding additional stuff as we grow. I also want to thank my wife Judy and my brother Jon for finally getting my butt moving on this project which I had talked about for years.

If you have suggestions on improving the site, would like to see other features, let me know. I can't promise I will change anything but if it makes sense I may just do it!

Look forward to hearing from you all out there.

Gary
